Melon
Melon ( Cucumis melo L., 1753) is a climbing plant that refers to the family of Cucurbitaceae.
The term "melon" refers as to the fruit as to the plant. It's majorly cultivated for its edible flowers, sweet and fragrant. It's herbaceous plant, creeping and climbing, and it's annual. It fiber roots can extend them selves over the ground for more than 150 cm; its stem, rich in fluff, è ramified and its leaves are longer than 10 cm. Despite its copious flourishing that lasts from may to september, only 10% of the flowers becomes fruit.
The fruit is voluminous, oval or round and on its peel you can easily distinguish the slices. Its pulp is juicy and really fragrant when it's mature. It inner cavity contains many seeds. Melon is a refreshing fruit and it's extremely thirst-quenching. It contains a huge quantity of phosphorus that make it a valid ally for bones.
